Cardiovascular Technologist

Job Summary

The Cardiovascular Technologist will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This role involves assisting in the preparation and execution of various cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Catheterization Laboratory.
• Monitor patient vital signs and condition during procedures.
• Maintain and operate specialized cardiovascular equipment.
• Prepare and assist with the administration of medications as directed by the medical team.
• Educate patients and their families on procedures and related care.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards in the laboratory.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of work experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
• Graduate of a Cardiovascular Imaging Science (CVIS) training program or possess RCIS certification.
• One year of experience in Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, or Interventional Radiology, or completion of a CVT apprenticeship program may be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) are required.
• Successful completion of a Telemetry test is necessary prior to starting the position.

Work Schedule

This position requires the ability to work 8 to 10-hour shifts and to be on call every third weekend with a response time of 30 minutes.
