Description

American Traveler is hiring an IR/Cath Lab Technologist with 1+ years of interventional radiology scrub/circ experience and ARRT(R) or RCIS certification for a small, fast-paced IR suite serving adult and geriatric patients.

Details

• Small IR suite with moderate to high case volume
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses include abdominal ascites, pleural effusions, thrombosed hemodialysis AVF/AVG, PICC/port line placement and removal, and biopsies
• Uses Philips Azurion C-Arm, endoflators, angioplasty balloons, stents, tunneling HD catheters, and PICC/PortaCath devices of varying brands and sizes
• 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• On-call required approximately 8-10 shifts per month, including nights and weekends, for urgent/emergent cases only
• On-call begins 31 minutes after scheduled shift end and covers urgent/emergent cases
• Every third weekend on-call required for urgent/emergent cases
• Floating required within specialty and cath lab suite, with cath lab scrub experience preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of strong IR scrub/circ experience required; cath lab scrub experience preferred
• ARRT(R) state of MD license required; RCIS also considered
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Proficient in venous access, port accessing/management, central venous and PICC line care
• Skilled in vascular studies including angioplasty, dialysis graft interventions, endovascular interventions, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• Cardiac cath lab procedure experience preferred, including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement, and TAVR
• Experience with chest tube placement, liver biopsy, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• Comfortable working in diagnostic cardiac cath lab, hybrid OR, and interventional radiology settings
• Knowledge of fluoroscopy equipment, PACS, sterile technique, and infection control practices
• License required if applicable
• First-time travelers accepted with strong IR/cath lab scrub experience

Additional Information

• Perform procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site preparation, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Serve as room circulator or scrub technician maintaining sterile field during procedures
• Maintain and stock equipment and supplies as needed
• Utilize rapid response/code teams when necessary
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced local travel rate
