Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience for a busy interventional cardiac cath lab at an acute care teaching hospital.
Details
- Interventional and diagnostic cardiac cath lab setting serving adult patients
- 6 procedure rooms with a daily census of 15-20 patients
- Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and ASD/PFO closures
- Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
- Equipment includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS
- Epic charting required
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- On-call requirement of 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts every 6 weeks, including one full weekend (Fri-Sun) and one Saturday for elective cases
- Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called for on-call shifts
- Must be available to work or take call for at least one holiday per 13-week contract, with 2 holidays required during winter holiday periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, NYE/New Year's)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab required, 3+ years preferred
- 1:1 patient ratio experience
- ACLS, BLS, and either ARRT(R) or CCI RCIS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Epic charting experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Proficient in LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip procedures
- Skilled in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE, equipment handling, and supply management
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site prep, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- May serve as room circulator or scrub to maintain sterile field
- Additional skills preferred include ASD closures, cardiac implant closure devices, ECMO, laser-assisted procedures, OCT, PA line insertion, LAA closure, renal angiography, and renal artery stent placement
- Facility is an acute care teaching hospital with over 700 licensed beds, a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet designation, and certified stroke center status
- Nationally recognized for cardiac cath lab excellence with ACC accreditation for PCI procedures
- Supported by a multidisciplinary team with adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Previous employees must have a minimum one-year gap before returning as a traveler
