Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 1+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. This travel-friendly role involves working in diagnostic and interventional labs, with a 1:1 patient ratio.

The position requires ACLS/BLS, EP/PCI experience, and Epic charting proficiency. Travel may require floating to like units; candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology lab.
• Perform diagnostic and interventional procedures with 1:1 patient care.
• Procedures include PCI, stenting, IABP and EP studies.
• Operate fluoroscopy, Philips equipment, ultrasound and PACS systems.
• Maintain sterile technique, infection control and equipment readiness.
• Travelers may float to like units; on-call and weekends as needed.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 1+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiac procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in cath lab/EP procedures
• Current ACLS and BLS certification
• License required if applicable
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in EKG lead placement, access site prep, hemodynamic monitoring, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Experience with vascular closure systems and vascular studies/procedures preferred
• Experience with laser-assisted procedures and rotablator atherectomy preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology lab
• Cardiac patients requiring diagnostic and interventional procedures
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Procedures include diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, IABP and Impella insertion, permanent and temporary pacemaker insertion, EP studies, cardioversion, and vascular procedures such as angioplasty, carotid stenting, and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
• Uses fluoroscopy, Philips equipment, ultrasound, and PACS systems
• Epic charting experience required
• Monday-Friday day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM) with rotating weekends and call
• Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, equipment set up, room circulation, and maintaining sterile technique and infection control
• Maintains and stocks equipment and supplies as part of daily duties
• Follows isolation precautions and PPE protocols, and may utilize rapid response/code teams
• Travelers may be expected to float to like units within their scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates are not accepted
