Radiology Technologist

Position Summary

The Acute Care Radiology Technologist provides healthcare services by performing X-Ray procedures to assist in diagnosis or treatment. This role involves producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent.
• Montana Licensure (Radiology Technologist).
• American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), Radiologic Technology (R.T.).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One (1) year of previous radiology experience, which may include clinical internship experience.
• Demonstrated competency in advanced imaging techniques including fluoroscopic/C-Arm in the OR, Trauma, and portable radiography within six months, including services to NICU, CCU, and ED.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform radiographic exams as requested by healthcare providers.
• Conduct fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside radiology providers.
• Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis.
• Provide patient education regarding preparation and post-care for radiology procedures.
• Assist radiology nursing staff with fluoroscopically-guided PICC placement.
• Perform C-Arm fluoroscopy exams in the OR as requested by surgeons.
• Complete necessary documentation for accurate interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
• Handle ancillary duties to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
• Retrieve written orders and related health information.
• Engage in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators.
• Educate radiography students, new hires, and other radiology technicians on relevant diagnostic and operative guidance exams.

• Flexible schedule may be required, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
• Effective communication is necessary, both in-person and through various technologies.
• Able to handle challenging situations and de-escalate issues with patients or families.
• Capable of performing repetitive tasks as needed for job responsibilities.
