Job summary

Empire is seeking an Access Control Technician to join our traveling crew across the United States. You will install and troubleshoot access control and security gate systems, work from blueprints, and perform related electrical and welding tasks.

This role requires construction experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to travel 50–75% of the time. You will be part of a safety-minded team with opportunities to develop specialized access control skills and advance within the

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of construction experience.
• Experience with fencing or access control preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification; OSHA 30 is preferred.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work outdoors.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Willingness to travel 50–75%.

Responsibilities

• Install access control and security gate systems.
• Read and follow blueprints, plans, and project specifications.
• Perform low-voltage electrical work, including wiring gate operators and access systems.
• Work with concrete and foundations for installations.
• Perform welding as required for installations.
• Operate heavy equipment safely.
• Load and secure materials on trailers for jobsite deployment.
• Troubleshoot installation and quality issues; identify root causes.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep jobsites organized and safe.
• Communicate daily progress with Project Managers and field crews.
