Job summary

DirectShifts in Alabama is seeking a physician to perform Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension examinations, reviewing records and completing VA-required documentation. No prescribing or follow-up care is required.

You will assess cognitive, emotional, and physical residuals, prepare detailed medical reports, and ensure compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and state and federal regulations. Flexible scheduling is available and administrative support is provided.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required with active, unrestricted license in the practice state.
• Board Certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or Physiatry.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified in one of the following specialties:
• Neurology
• Psychiatry
• Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry)
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
