Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas seeks a Registered Nurse with >2 years of trauma/acute care experience to coordinate patient care in a high-acuity Trauma Center. The RN will apply nursing process, develop individualized plans, and ensure timely care while adhering to Texas Nursing Practice Act and institutional protocols.

The role requires current TX RN license, BLS, ACLS/ALS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC/ATCN within requirements, and ongoing certification maintenance, with shifts including

Qualifications

• Must have two years of nursing experience.
• Trauma/Acute care experience preferred.
• Current TX RN license and BLS, ACLS/ALS, PALS/ENPC certifications at time of hire or with ability to maintain.
• TNCC or ATCN certification at time of interview, with upload.
• CCRN or CEN certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Enhance trauma care for all Trauma Center patients using clinical expertise and defined protocols.
• Manage trauma activations: care, documentation, and family communication throughout admission.
• Collect data for Trauma Registry and performance improvement processes.
• Perform daily rounds and coordinate care with trauma, neurosurgery, and orthopedics teams.
• Stay current with trauma practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in committees to improve trauma practice and outcomes.
