Southcoast Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Trauma Center at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

The role supports the surgical team during intra-operative care, ensures sterile environments, and handles instrument management with on-call duties as needed. Qualified candidates will have a Surgical Technology program credential, a completed high school education, BLS certification, and a readiness to meet hospital vaccination requirements.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of 4 years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training is required.
• Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential within 12 months of graduation (or 6 months if >12 months from graduation).
• Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
• One year of related work experience is preferred.
• Must be vaccinated against seasonal influenza and the COVID-19 virus or be exempt with a signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the surgical team during the intra-operative phase and maintain a sterile, safe operating room environment.
• Perform OR preparation, instrument supply and assembly, maintain sterile fields, and manage counts throughout procedures.
• Perform Surgical Technologist duties including on-call duties as needed or required.
