Position Overview

The Division of Trauma Surgery at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Trauma Surgeon to deliver comprehensive surgical services to patients in the greater Phoenix area and surrounding communities. Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is a 766-bed Level 1 Trauma Center (adult care only), recognized for excellence with Magnet and ACS verification.

Division Environment

The division features 10 faculty divisions, 7 Advanced Practice Providers, and a busy Trauma and Critical Care program. It emphasizes multidisciplinary care, teaching, and research, utilizing cutting-edge medical technologies and treatment techniques.

Candidate Profile

We seek an experienced Trauma Surgeon with strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a special interest in trauma, surgical and critical care, education, and research. Responsibilities include emergency and trauma surgery, TSICU call, developing a clinical practice to support elective general surgery growth, and participating in education and research. Faculty appointment at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix will be offered based on credentials.

Minimum Qualifications

• Fellowship training in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgical Critical Care
• Preferred experience or residency in Robotic/MIS techniques
• Unrestricted license eligibility
• Proven clinical, scholarly, and teaching abilities
• Publication record and awards in teaching or clinical excellence
• Experience working with diverse patient populations
• ATLS Instructor qualifications and teaching experience
