Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant / Associate Job with Penn Medicine in Lancaster, PA

Position Overview: Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Team seeks a full-time Advanced Practitioner to join the only accredited Level 1 Trauma Center in Lancaster County. The team comprises nine surgeons and ten Advanced Practice Providers, providing 24/7 emergency coverage. Collaborate with Penn Medicine Lancaster General's Neurosurgical Trauma team and Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster. Opportunities include resident education, precepting APPs, and participating in emergency surgeries such as appendicitis, cholecystitis, and bowel perforation. The team is equipped with advanced tools and provides critical care in the Trauma Neuro ICU, working with neurology stroke services.

Hours: Full-time, night shifts (13-hour shifts from 8 pm to 9 am), with some day shifts, weekend rotations (every 2-3 weeks), and holidays.

Minimum Requirements:

Physician Assistant:

  • Current PA licensure by PA Board of Medicine
  • Graduate of an accredited PA training program
  • Preferably, at least one year of experience as a Physician Assistant

Nurse Practitioner:

  • Valid Pennsylvania RN licensure
  • Certification by ANCC or equivalent
  • Valid CRNP license and Prescriptive Authority in PA
  • Credentialed by the medical staff
  • RNFA certification or willingness to obtain
  • Preferably, at least one year of NP experience
