Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, is seeking a Trauma Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our multidisciplinary surgical team at our Level II Trauma Center. You will provide perioperative care and first/second assist across general, trauma, orthopedic, neurosurgery and bariatric procedures, with Epic EMR support.

Minimum two years of surgical experience is required; the recruitment package may include base salary, sign-on, CME allowance and malpractice insurance.

• Minimum 2 years surgical experience required.
• Experience as a surgical first/second assist preferred.
• Perioperative care and intraoperative support experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first or second assist on surgical cases across multiple specialties.
• Perform intraoperative tasks such as suturing and tissue handling.
• Participate in surgical rounding and documentation of patient progress.
• Collaborate with surgeons, residents, nursing staff and anesthesia teams.
• Support adherence to clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.

Overview

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, is seeking a skilled and motivated Trauma Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our multidisciplinary surgical team at our Level II Trauma Center in Pocatello, Idaho.

This opportunity will provide perioperative care and first-assist support for a variety of surgical specialties, contributing to high-quality patient care in both elective and emergent settings.

About Your Work:

• Serve as first or second assist on surgical cases for variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including general surgery, trauma, orthopedic, neurosurgery, bariatric and other subspecialties as needed
• Perform intraoperative technical skills such as suturing, wound closure and tissue handling
• Participate in surgical rounding, documenting and communicating with patient progress
• Work closely with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, anesthesiologists and other team members
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adherence to clinical protocols
• Excellent support staff
• Epic EMR
