Advocate Health is seeking a Trauma Surgery Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (AGACNP) to join a Level I Trauma Center team in Oak Lawn, IL. The role blends inpatient acute care with ambulatory follow-up, caring for high-acuity trauma and surgical patients within a dynamic academic environment.

The AGACNP will work 40 hours weekly on a schedule of three 12‑hour shifts, with every fourth weekend rotation and no holiday requirement.

Qualifications

• Active RN and APRN licenses in states of practice.
• Active national board certification in area of clinical practice.
• Active DEA registration prior to hire.
• Illinois practice requires active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by clinical practice.
• Education required: Master’s Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage treatment plans for age and acuity.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies; prescribe interventions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; escalate when needed.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
• Facilitate coordination and communication among health-team members.
