Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois invites an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its Trauma Surgery team. The role blends inpatient acute care with ambulatory follow-up, focusing on high-acuity trauma and surgical patients in a busy academic environment.

The AG-ACNP will work in a multidisciplinary setting, with a 40-hour week across three 12-hour shifts, every fourth weekend, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active RN and APRN license in state(s) of practice.
• Active national board certification relevant to clinical practice.
• Active DEA registration prior to hire.
• Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire.
• Active BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by practice.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage trauma and acute surgical patients per scope of practice.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure compliant coding/billing.
• Collaborate with surgeons, clinicians, and nurses to coordinate care across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
