Job summary

SAMGI is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Trauma Surgeon to provide trauma and acute surgical coverage at JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio. This role follows a shift-based model with predictable scheduling and competitive per-shift pay.

MD or DO required; ATLS; California license; employed or contractor arrangement. Compensation is $3,000 per shift with 104 shifts per year, and SAMGI provides administrative and credentialing support.

Qualifications

• MD or DO credential required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
• ATLS certification required or ability to obtain.
• Active California medical license or ability to obtain.
• Ability to obtain hospital privileges and credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma surgery coverage for a Level IV Trauma Center.
• Evaluate and manage trauma patients in the emergency department and inpatient settings.
• Perform operative and non-operative trauma care as indicated.
• Collaborate closely with emergency medicine, anesthesia, ICU, and hospital staff.
• Participate in call coverage during assigned shifts.
• Deliver timely, safe, and compliant patient care in alignment with SAMGI and hospital standards.
