Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a fellowship-trained Trauma Surgeon to join a busy team at a high-volume Level II Trauma Center. This full-time role offers a comprehensive scope of emergency general services, trauma care, and acute surgical services in a fast-paced environment with J1/H1B eligibility.

The position includes a robust call schedule, opportunities to use robotics in acute care surgery, and EPIC EMR.

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained trauma surgeon.
• Eligibility for J1/H1B visa.
• Experience in emergency general surgery and trauma care.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-scope trauma care including OR, rounding, clinic and critical care.
• Provide 15 shifts per month with a mix of days and nights; 1 clinic day per week.
• Contribute to the trauma program with robotics in acute care surgery.
• Share night EGS on-call duties.
• Maintain Epic EMR documentation and care coordination.
