Job summary

Adelphi Medical Staffing seeks a trauma and surgical critical care specialist to cover inpatients and outpatients in Fort Wayne, IN. You will work across MSICU, CVIU, CICU and supervise APPs on day and night shifts.

Board-certified in General Surgery with a Trauma/Surgical Critical Care fellowship is required, along with an Indiana license, CSR, and DEA. This role offers long-term permanency with night call coverage.

Qualifications

• Board certified in General Surgery with Fellowship in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care.
• Active Indiana medical license required; CSR and DEA credentials.
• Independence in leadership and collaboration with APPs.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma and surgical critical care coverage for inpatients and outpatients.
• Manage ICU patients (MSICU, CVIU, CICU) and emergency general surgery.
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs on both day and night teams.
• Perform surgical procedures including laparoscopic, vascular, and trauma surgeries.
• Participate in call schedule and provide backup coverage as needed.

• Shift/Clinic Coverage: Primarily covered by APPs, with the surgeon seeing a few patients designated as "MD only". These are patients with ongoing wounds or need for future surgeries (eg, interval appendectomies, cholecystostomy tubes needing future cholecystectomy)
