GENERAL SUMMARY

• Manage all components of the Trauma Registry, including data collection, data entry, and data retrieval/statistical conversion.


• Review trauma admission records for data collection and abstraction.


• Analyze all records for quality assurance trauma standards recommended by governing bodies and as stipulated by regulatory groups.


• Perform the abstraction, coding (ICD) and application of all trauma data points in the registry taken primarily from inpatient trauma cases.


• Apprise program coordinator of all relevant trauma audit filter inconsistencies via periodic quality assurance reports.


• Produce various other quality assurance reports as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High School diploma equivalency and 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.


• Prior experience as a Trauma Registrar highly preferred


• ICD coding experience highly preferred


• Medical Terminology knowledge preferred -


• HIM degree preferred -


• Data abstraction experience preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

Preferred Credential(s): -

• Registrar specializing in Trauma Registry.


• CAISS certification.
