Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital--Suffolk is seeking a Physician Assistant – Trauma – per diem to join a dynamic trauma service. The PA will provide care for in- and outpatients in ED, Pre-Admission Testing, OR, Employee Health, Psych Care, and pediatrics under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include initial assessment, orders and interpretation of tests, documentation, and collaboration with the trauma team to deliver timely, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by the ARC-PA or its predecessor.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Introduces/identifies self as a physician assistant.
• Performs initial assessment, history, and physical examination.
• Orders and interprets tests and results based on patient need.
• Documents care per hospital policy.
• Formulates diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Consults with physician when required.
• Reassesses patients and manages documentation.
