Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to manage and deliver trauma-focused patient care within the Performance Improvement department at New Hanover. You will be responsible for age-appropriate nursing care and participating in regional trauma education initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an NC RN license, TNCC, and have experience in trauma or ED settings; BSN is required with MSN preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in NC is required.
• TNCC certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Trauma-focused knowledge and experience preferred for ED/CC/Trauma.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across the age spectrum (neonate to geriatric).
• Lead or participate in trauma care processes and regional education initiatives.
• Collaborate with Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director to deliver trauma education.

What You'll Do

This Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care. Clinical nurses working in any unit of Nursing Services must have the ability to provide care to patients from the neonate through the geriatric years. A Registered Nurse responsible for the provision of process improvement strategies to improve the care of the trauma patient throughout the region. Identifies regional trauma educational needs and works collaborating with the Regional Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director to provide trauma education.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, require. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Graduate Degree, preferred. Master of Science in Nursing
• Experience: Prior experience may be required for specialty areas such as Emergency Department, Critical Care and Trauma, required.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN Licensure of NC, required.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required with 1 year of hire, required.
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse (ATCN), preferred.
  • Trauma Certified RN (TCRN), preferred.
• Additional Skills (required): Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age. Demonstrates proficient oral and written communication skills. Is knowledgeable of compliance standards and Performance Improvement process and execution.
