Job summary

The University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time academic orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in orthopedic trauma for the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure. Fellowship training in orthopedic trauma is required, and a strong focus on research, teaching, and service is expected.

The candidate should bring a perspective from diverse educational backgrounds and contribute to mentorship of students, residents and faculty.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME Orthopedic Surgery residency.
• Graduate of an orthopedic trauma fellowship.
• Reliable clinician with sound judgment and technical expertise.
• Education-focused and a creative problem-solver.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff.
• Board eligible/certified.
• Licensed or ability to acquire Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure, and DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Pursue scholarly work in candidate's area of specialty/research with the goal of developing collaborations or independent, externally funded research.
• Participate in research mentorship for medical students, residents and faculty.
• Foster an academic environment by active involvement in national organizations and collaboration with researchers and clinicians.
