Job summary

MercyOne Genesis is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join a growing team at a Level III Trauma Center. The role emphasizes trauma-focused, inpatient care with a Monday–Friday schedule and shared call.

You will help build a new program with strong leadership support in a collaborative environment. Qualifying candidates must have fellowship training in Orthopedic Traumatology or Adult Reconstruction, ABOS board status, and the ability to obtain Iowa/Illinois licenses.

Qualifications

• MD or DO fellowship trained in Orthopedic Traumatology or Adult Reconstruction/Total Joint Arthroplasty
• ABOS Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Ability to obtain Iowa and Illinois medical licenses
• Strong clinical and surgical skill set with a commitment to quality and evidence-based care
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Open to graduating fellows and experienced surgeons

Responsibilities

• 100% inpatient focus with a Monday–Friday 8–5 schedule and shared call (1:8)
• Collaborate with trauma, anesthesia, orthopedics, and critical care teams
• Build and shape a new orthopedic trauma program with leadership support
• Provide autonomous, high-quality care within a Level III trauma center
