Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC seeks a Trauma Nurse Lead to coordinate professional nursing care for the Trauma Program, guiding care from assessment through planning and documentation. In collaboration with the care team and patients' families, you will implement interventions, mentor staff, and support performance improvement initiatives across the Trauma Program.

Requires RN license in NC, BSN, 3+ years trauma/critical care, and national certification in critical care or trauma; leadership

Qualifications

  • Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Nursing
  • Required License/Certifications: Must have and maintain licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Required Experience: Three years critical care/trauma experience.
  • Preferred Experience: Ability to work with spreadsheets and databases, teaching experience.
  • Required Certification: National certification in critical care or trauma care. BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC

Responsibilities

  • Supports department by facilitating the delivery of professional, specialized nursing care related to the Trauma Program for the well‑being and comfort of patients.
  • In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the Trauma Nurse Lead utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation to provide care, documentation and teaching related to acute needs; and by implementing medically prescribed interventions related to acute care needs in the trauma injured patient.
  • The Trauma Nurse Lead will assist the trauma clinical coordinators and trauma data analysts with the development, collection, implementation and management of the performance improvement program for Mission Hospitals Trauma Program.
