Job summary

Northeast Healthcare Recruitment, Inc. (NEHCR) is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neurosurgeon to join an established neurosurgical program in Rapid City, South Dakota.

The role focuses on acute care neurosurgery and trauma within an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center, with no elective procedures. The physician will provide comprehensive care for traumatic neurosurgical injuries in a high-acuity environment, supported by strong APP support, trauma and ICU services, and a fully

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery.
• Fellowship training in trauma or demonstrated trauma experience required.
• Unrestricted South Dakota medical license.
• ATLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care neurosurgical services for trauma patients, including evaluation, diagnosis, surgical intervention, and postoperative management
• Manage traumatic neurosurgical injuries in emergency and inpatient settings
• Collaborate with Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and other multidisciplinary teams
• Provide timely, evidence-based care for high-acuity patients
• Participate in follow-up clinics to ensure continuity of care for trauma patients
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs to enhance patient care delivery
• Develop and adhere to standardized clinical protocols
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
