Job summary

WVU Medicine seeks an inpatient Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care in a hospital setting. You will apply the nursing process to develop plans of care, document comprehensively, and collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety and outcomes.

The role requires an active RN license (state or eNLC) and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Less than 12 months experience is acceptable; BSN is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Less than 12 months of experience as a registered nurse.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safety and continuity of care using documentation and handoff tools.
• Creates plan of care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnoses, intervention, and evaluation of outcomes.
• Identifies patient safety concerns and addresses them with appropriate resources.
• Provides education based on learning needs of the patient.
• Applies ANA code of ethics to nursing practice and participates in patient-centered care.
