Job summary

Bobit Business Media in New York seeks a licensed mental health therapist to provide skill-building and behavioral health services to foster youth and families, within a multi-disciplinary team. You will develop and implement behavioral health plans and deliver counseling and targeted skill-building activities.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches, crisis intervention when needed, and collaboration with care teams to improve youth well-being and service integration.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in one of the following fields: Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling or Psychology
• Must be NYS Licensed Professional
• Must have at least three years of clinical experience working with children
• Master or Advanced Credential Substance Abuse and Alcoholism Counselor (CASAC or CASAC-T) (optional)

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group counseling, plus transitional counseling
• Psychoeducation and wellness education with youth and their families
• Coordinate with Foster Care, Health Services, and Health Home Care Management to improve client compliance
• Perform annual and necessary assessments per Article 29-I
• Provide referrals for additional support (CFTSS and HCBS)
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to set treatment goals
• Assist youth to develop skills per treatment goals
• Utilize evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions to target coping behaviors
• Regularly assess safety and well-being of youth and families
• Ensure quality assurance and excellence in service provision
• Provide crisis intervention services as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned including assessment for substance/alcohol abuse
