Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island in Providence, RI seeks a Youth Support Partner/Community Engagement Specialist to engage at‑risk youth and provide trauma‑informed advocacy. The role focuses on building authentic relationships, linking youth to community resources, and collaborating with families and treatment teams to promote safety and self‑sufficiency.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, lived experience with trafficking/child welfare, and 1+ year of peer support.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Lived experience with human trafficking and/or child welfare involvement.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience providing peer support.
• Must be willing to be certified as a Peer Support Specialist within 2 years of hire.
• Effective communication skills including written, conflict resolution and mediation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
• Bilingual/ASL skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
• Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.

Responsibilities

• Engage and serve at‑risk youth identified as potential victims of CSEC.
• Provide culturally competent services and trauma‑informed advocacy.
• Collaborate with families, community resources, providers and treatment teams.
