Job summary

El Paso Center for Children, Inc. seeks a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to provide trauma-informed prevention, screening, counseling, case management, and outreach for youth.

The LCDC will collaborate with families, schools, and partners to support safety, stability, and transitions, while participating in residential and program activities as needed. The role requires active LCDC licensure in Texas, and the individual will work under supervision with the program and division

Qualifications

  • Current and active Texas LCDC license in good standing.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least two years of professional experience in substance-use services or related areas is preferred.
  • Experience with adolescents/young adults, trauma, homelessness, trafficking or related issues is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct substance-use screenings and assessments within LCDC scope and identify needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling focused on prevention, intervention, recovery, and relapse prevention.
  • Coordinate ISPs and develop goals addressing substance use, safety, education, family relationships, and workforce readiness.
  • Provide case management and referrals to treatment, behavioral health, medical, educational, employment, housing, and community resources.
  • Collaborate with youth, families, schools, treatment providers, child-welfare professionals, and juvenile-justice partners.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary staffings, discharge planning, follow-up, and aftercare services.
  • Support youth safety, family stability, and successful transitions.
  • Maintain client records in compliance with agency policies and licensing requirements.
