Job summary

Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska seeks a Youth Worker II at the Winnebago Youth Shelter/YCIC to welcome juveniles, coordinate intake, and collaborate with guardians, social workers, attorneys and tribal court partners.

This Regular, full-time, non-exempt position requires trauma-informed care, adherence to policies, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, flexible shifts, and on-site work at the Winnebago, NE location. Training in Handle with Care is provided, with opportunities to pursue related fields.

Qualifications

• Must implement Trauma Informed Care when assisting youth.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.
• Must complete Handle with Care training and pursue related training plans.

Responsibilities

• Receives juveniles into the YCIC and advises guardians, caseworkers and agencies on procedures.
• Assists with intake, orientation and coordination of services for youths and families.
• Maintains daily behavior observation logs and ensures safety within the facility.
• Participates in meal planning, supervision, and housekeeping duties as directed.
• Works flexible shifts in a 24/7 facility and adheres to confidentiality policies.
