Job summary

Maryville Academy seeks Transitional Counselors to support youths in the St. Dominic Savio Program in Des Plaines, IL. You will provide direct care during evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, helping youths transition to less restrictive settings and become active community members.

Responsibilities include trauma-informed engagement, life skills coaching, documentation, crisis intervention, and safe transportation. Bilingual preferred; training in NCI/CPR/Maryville Model of Care is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in human services or 5 years relevant experience.
• Completion of staff training including NCI, CPR and Maryville Model of Care.
• Strong boundary setting, safety management, and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to youth with emotional and behavioral issues.
• Engage using trauma-informed care principles.
• Develop life and vocational skills in youth.
• Document progress and treatment plans.
• Monitor medication administration.
• Plan and lead structured recreational activities.
• Intervene in crises with NCI techniques.
• Attend staff and treatment team meetings.
• Transport youth safely in a passenger van.
• Complete required agency training.
