Job summary

Justice Resource Institute seeks a Special Education English Teacher for Walden Street School, a residential adolescent program focused on trauma-informed care. The role involves delivering structured English instruction and coordinating with the education team to support student learning.

You will create lesson plans, collaborate with colleagues, and participate in family and team meetings to address academic needs.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or be eligible to be waived by the MA DESE for Special Education 5-12 and/or Secondary Education licensure.
• Relevant experience with grades 5-12 preferred.
• Knowledge of the relevant content area.
• Maintains valid driver's license; transporting students required.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement structured lesson plans while building a therapeutic rapport with students.
• Collaborate with the Special Education team to provide the best academics for students.
• Attend meetings with family members, collaterals and other teams to address academic needs.
• Help students develop life skills and a sense of self to succeed in their next steps.
