Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional/life experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in social services or community safety.
• Two years’ experience as a Security Guard or active license as a trained Security Guard.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required within 90 days.
• Experience with violence interruption and trauma-informed care.
• Experience working in institutional settings with safety equipment/cameras.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and implement safety protocols across all activities and locations.
• Develop and support participant safety plans with leadership and staff.
• Lead trainer and mentor on conflict resolution, de-escalation, and harm reduction techniques.
• Educate staff on trauma-informed safety practices and safety interventions (CBI).
• Prepare and review incident reports for quality assurance and improvements.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure a secure environment and best safety practices.
• Monitor entry/exit points and oversee surveillance systems.
• Respond to crises and provide first aid when necessary.
• Participate in safety and wellness checks with the team.
• Maintain site log and escalate issues to leadership.
• Lead safety-focused sessions with staff/participants.
• Attend meetings and liaise with stakeholders.
