Job summary

Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center is seeking an Outpatient Therapist for an in-office role in Kansas. The practitioner will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and well-being among patients with complex social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

The candidate must hold a doctoral or master’s degree in a related field and be licensable in Kansas, with required background checks and motor vehicle screening completed.

Qualifications

• Doctoral or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field.
• Must be licensable in Kansas through the Kansas BSRB.
• Must pass KBI and background checks; motor vehicle screen and transportation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with patients.
• Provide therapy using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
• Document all clinical services in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Coordinate care with psychiatrists, case managers, nurses, peer specialists, and community providers.
• Conduct crisis assessments and referrals to higher levels of care as needed.
• Participate in case consultations, supervision, and continuing education.
• Engage in psychoeducation, skill-building, and empowerment for long-term stability.
• Advocate for access to community resources and social determinants of health.
