Job summary

The Division of Youth Services (DYS) within the Colorado Department of Human Services is seeking a Classroom Teacher. The position requires working at the assigned location with adjudicated youth in a structured, trauma-informed environment, leveraging PBIS and state standards to deliver mathematics, science or literacy instruction.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid Colorado teaching license and a BA/BS in education or related field, with experience in at-risk youth preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Current, valid Initial or Professional Teacher license issued by the Colorado Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains an appropriate classroom setting with PBIS and engagement strategies.
• Assesses students using multiple methods and records evidence of learning.
• Prepares unit and daily lesson plans aligned with state standards and critical skills.
• Uses technology for teaching and learning and maintains educational records in IC and Trails.
