Job summary

Cascadia Health seeks an Information and Referral Specialist for the CAIR program based at the Plaza site in SE Portland. You will manage referrals, enroll clients in respite services, and complete intakes while supporting trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities include scheduling across mental health, SUD, and primary care, pre-registration in EHR, verifying insurance, and assisting with crisis referrals as needed. Strong data entry and empathy are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of office setting experience preferred.
• Demonstrate trauma-informed service approach and data entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Determine reason for calls and schedule appointments across services.
• Pre-register in EHR (Ochin/EPIC) system.
• Verify insurance in 3rd party databases.
• Initiate calls to schedule, register, and refer clients.
• Maintain EHR/records per agency policies and regulations.
• Screen calls and direct to appropriate services.
• Complete CAIR screening and document in EHR.
• Provide up-to-date information to intake clinicians.
• Assist in crisis situations per protocols and complete CSSRS.
• Adhere to abuse reporting laws and HIPAA.
