Job summary

The Ohio State University University Hospital is seeking a Forensic Specialist to deliver trauma-informed nursing care to patients affected by violence and trauma. You will integrate nursing science, forensic nursing, and public health to meet medical, emotional, psychosocial, and legal needs.

You will collaborate with physicians, social workers, law enforcement, and community partners to ensure safe, patient-centered care and maintain evidence integrity across OSUWMC and affiliated facilities.

Qualifications

• An Ohio nursing license is required.
• BLS certification must be current prior to direct patient care.
• Associate degree in nursing is required; BSN preferred; NP/PA certification may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Provide forensic nursing assessment and treatment across the lifespan.
• Collect evidence and document findings per protocol.
• Coordinate care with physicians, social workers, advocacy agencies, and legal professionals.
• Educate patients and families; support courtroom processes.
