Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a Full-Time Therapeutic Visitation Specialist for the Supportive Visitation Services program in Union City, NJ. Starting salary is $72k–$75k. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in social work or a related field, at least one year of relevant experience, and a valid NJ Driver’s License plus

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with children & families, particularly those involved with welfare systems or trauma.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License; Licenses LPC, LAC, LSW, or CSW preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with families in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Schedule and conduct visits in home settings when possible, ensuring child safety.
• Ensure environment supports healthy parent–child interaction and is non-traumatizing.
• Use trauma‑informed, strengths‑based approaches to engage families.
• Coordinate with DCP&P and other providers, sharing relevant information.
• Document contacts in progress notes and relevant sheets; maintain visitation plans.
• Create and update visitation plans with active family involvement.
• Facilitate visit planning meetings and participate in related meetings.
• Promote caregiver skills and empowerment through education and modeling.
