Job summary

Volunteers of America, Utah is seeking a Recovery Assistant for our Detox facility. This role supports clients through intake, stabilization, and basic care, operating within trauma-informed practices to foster a safe, recovery-oriented environment.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with graveyard shifts for full-time staff. The role requires evening/night availability, strong communication, and compassionate, firm engagement with clients as they progress through detox

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office for data entry.
• Familiarity with substance abuse; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews with clients.
• Answer phones and provide information on Detox process.
• Ensure client safety and enforce facility rules.
• Interact with clients in detox.
• Take vital signs and monitor medications.
• Assist with activities of daily living per treatment plans.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques during crises.
• Complete paperwork and reporting per licensing and contract requirements.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and safety standards.
• Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.
• Attend work as scheduled.
