Job summary

North Slope Borough seeks a Client Advocate to oversee daily care for residents across the Arctic Women in Crisis Shelter, Children & Youth Services Residential Program, or Integrated Behavioral Health Outpatient Program. You will deliver trauma-informed counseling, ensure a safe, respectful environment, and coordinate activities.

Responsibilities include screening, documentation, de-escalation, outreach, and collaboration with supervisors and professionals to meet individual client needs.

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed care and counseling experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly with staff and clients.
• Demonstrated work experience using PC and common software applications.
• Knowledge of Department and Borough policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of local community resources.
• Ability to obtain CPR and Basic First Aid within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed care and counseling to clients.
• Plan and oversee program activities to ensure safety and quality of care.
• Monitor and de-escalate client behavior; follow safety protocols.
• Complete admission and discharge screening; document interactions.
• Transport clients to appointments as needed; attend meetings.
• Maintain program records and adhere to policy timelines.
