Job summary

The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region seeks a Mental Health Therapist to deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive counseling across the lifespan, focusing on individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities and coexisting mental health conditions in children under 16. The role requires Maryland licensure and an MSW degree, with pediatric/IDD experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work required.
• Maryland licensure as LCSW-C or LCPC (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of trauma theory and diverse populations.
• Basic computer skills and EHR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessments to identify treatment needs and strengths.
• Develop initial service plans with quarterly updates.
• Explain services, rights, confidentiality and consent to clients/guardians.
• Offer individual, family and/or group therapy.
• Document services and contacts in the EHR per policy.
• Make referrals including psychiatric evaluation and treatment.
• Prepare reports for court, school, and agencies.
• Attend clinical supervision and treatment team meetings.
• Uphold HIPAA/confidentiality per Maryland and agency rules.
• May rotate on-call duties and work one evening weekly.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.
