Job summary

Safe Horizon is seeking a staff member for the Supervised Visitation Program in New York. The role focuses on facilitating safe visitation between non-custodial parents and children when courts have determined unsupervised visitation is unsafe.

Responsibilities include monitoring visits under supervision, conducting intake interviews, preparing court reports, and maintaining records. A BS/BA in Social Services is required, with bilingual Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, be assertive and well organized.
• Knowledge of the Family Court and criminal justice system is preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients.
• Under the supervision of the Supervising Social Worker, monitor visits between non-custodial parents and their children;
• As needed, conduct intake interviews and assess families for participation in the Supervised Visitation Program;
• Assist in the preparation of reports for the court;
• Keep session notes, attendance records, and statistics.
• Attend internal and external meetings, trainings and workshops;
• Various other duties to be determined by supervisor.
