Ivy Street School in Boston seeks a Career Counselor to support students’ preparation for employment through a person-centered approach. The role involves direct career services, job coaching, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to promote self-determination and transition planning.

You will work with a caseload of students, lead career development activities, and help arrange on-campus and community-based opportunities while maintaining diligent documentation.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience working with youth in an educational setting preferred.
• A valid driver’s license.
• CPI, CPR and First Aid certifications required (offered upon hire).
• A background check, drug/alcohol test and TB testing to be conducted prior to start.

Aufgaben

• Carrying a caseload of students by providing direct career services as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Conducting screenings of employment-aged students to identify strengths and needs for career services.
• Providing supervision, job coaching and coordination of on-grounds and community-based student employment.
• Transporting students to and from employment opportunities using various transportation means.
• Participating in IEP process by assessing needs, writing goals, and attending meetings.
