Job summary

Arlington County Department of Human Services seeks an experienced Behavioral Health Therapist to join an outpatient team serving youth. The role delivers trauma-informed, culturally responsive behavioral health services in home, school, and community settings, with supervision support to pursue Virginia licensure within 3 years.

Starting salary varies by level (Licensed, Non-VA Licensed, or Resident/Supervisee); positions can telework part of the week.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a clinical discipline with internships/practicum per Virginia guidelines.
• Must possess or obtain licensure (LPC, LCP, LMFT or LCSW) within 3 years of hire.
• Ability to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed therapy for youth with mental health or substance use needs in diverse settings.
• Conduct intake, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with families and schools.
• Maintain thorough documentation in the EHR and comply with regulatory standards.
• Participate in team meetings, crisis intervention, and care coordination activities.
• Support supervision for licensure pursuit and engage in community outreach when needed.
