Job summary

Milestone Treatment Center is seeking a Group Facilitator to lead structured therapeutic and psychoeducational groups within PHP, IOP, and outpatient programs. This in-person, part-time/per diem role emphasizes engagement, empathy, and skilled facilitation.

You will create a safe environment that encourages participation, handles diverse personalities, and supports clients in developing coping skills and recovery strategies. Compensation ranges from $80–$150 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Relevant clinical licensure or certification (LCSW or LPC) is a plus but not required.
• Previous experience facilitating groups within behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, or social services strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of group process, facilitation techniques, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based interventions.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Ability to manage challenging group dynamics calmly and professionally.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Commitment to client-centered, culturally responsive, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate engaging groups aligned with client needs and program goals.
• Use evidence-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered approaches to guide group discussions.
• Help clients develop coping skills, self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication skills, and recovery strategies.
• Create a group environment built around trust, respect, participation, and accountability.
• Encourage clients to participate while recognizing different comfort levels and communication styles.
• Effectively manage group dynamics, challenging behaviors, and sensitive discussions.
• Recognize client concerns that require additional clinical attention and communicate them to the team.
• Complete timely and accurate group notes and required documentation.
• Collaborate with therapists, counselors, case managers, medical providers, and other MDT members.
• Contribute ideas for new groups, activities, curriculum, and programming.
• Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
• Follow HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, ethical, regulatory, and Milestone requirements.
