Job summary

Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC) seeks a compassionate Mental Health Counselor to serve adolescents in the ARRTS program, primarily in school settings in Williamsport, PA. The role focuses on trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, and skill-building within a supportive team.

The MHC collaborates with families, schools, and treatment teams, delivering direct behavioral health services and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Minimum one year of experience working with children or adolescents in a behavioral health setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience documenting services and maintaining professional records.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling and therapeutic support services to youth.
• Facilitate skills development, coping strategies, and behavioral interventions.
• Support implementation of treatment plans and clinical recommendations.
• Collaborate with school personnel, families, and treatment team members.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and treatment updates.
• Monitor client progress and communicate treatment-related concerns to supervisors.
• Assist youth in developing emotional regulation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
• Participate in supervision, training, and professional development activities.
