Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Trauma ICU at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. This full-time role covers 12-hour shifts across days or nights in a busy Level I trauma center, with a strong focus on critical care, patient safety, and family-centered care.

The unit supports professional growth through mentorship, residency programs, and opportunities to advance into ED, SICU, or CTICU leadership tracks.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse in good standing with state license
• Experience in trauma ICU or high-acuity units preferred
• Able to work 12-hour shifts and rotate days/nights

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to trauma and acute care surgery patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care per standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and transfer planning
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
• Maintain safety-sensitive responsibilities and adherence to hospital policies
