Job summary

Compass Health Center is seeking a licensed clinician to join our Chicago team as a Group Therapist. You will facilitate evidence-based group sessions using CBT, DBT, and ACT, with a focus on adults in crisis and trauma recovery.

You will also meet individually with patients, assist with safety planning, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a centrally located North Center office with rooftop social events. Compensation ranges from $47,000 to $65,000 USD.

Qualifications

• Hold a license (LSW, LPC, LCSW, or LCPC) or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience in group and individual therapy with adults.
• Background in trauma-focused evidence-based approaches (CPT/PE) or willingness to receive training.

Responsibilities

• Provide and lead group therapy sessions in a safe therapeutic milieu.
• Develop therapeutic relationships to promote positive patient change.
• Apply empirically-supported interventions (CBT/DBT/ACT; CPT/PE) for trauma-related issues.
• Meet individually with patients as needed; participate in safety planning.
• Document progress and collaborate with the treatment team and outpatient providers.

What You'll Do:

• Providinggroup therapy/ leadingskills groups forpatients in a safe and therapeutic milieu
• Developingeffective therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change in patients
• Utilizingempirically-supported interventions for presenting issues and diagnosesassociated with trauma, includingACT,CPT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation skills
• Meeting individually with patients, as needed
• Safety planning with patients, as needed
• Chartingprogress of patients appropriately
• Collaboratingwith treatment team and outpatient providers
• Completing/participatinginpatients’ discharges
• Participatingin professional development activities

Who You Are:

• Hold the following licenses or education: LSW (or LSW eligible), LPC (or LPC eligible), LCSW, or LCPC
• Have experience working with adults in group and individual therapy settings
• Have background and/or training in evidence-based, trauma-focused interventions, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE)(*training may be provided, if candidate lacks prior training and experience with these approaches)
• Possess knowledgeof CBT, DBT, ACTand group dynamics
• Have previous experience working with patients in crisis as well as those who have experience trauma
