Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Parallon is seeking a Trauma Data Abstractor to ensure accurate patient data abstraction and quality. You will abstract data for injured patients, review records, and ensure timely submission to national and state reporting systems.

Responsibilities include performing abstraction for assigned facilities, adhering to ACS, NTDB, TQIP, and state regulations, and resolving data errors to prevent record rejections. A related degree or coding certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School education/GED required.
• Undergraduate (Associate or Bachelor) degree or certified coding program preferred.
• Trauma Abstracting experience preferred.
• 1 year in Health Information Management; Coding, Nursing, and/or Health Registry abstraction experience preferred.
• Certificate/License: RHIA, RHIT, CSS, LVN or RN preferred.

• Resolve errors resulting in the rejection of records from the data entry system.
