Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian Trauma is seeking a nurse leader responsible for establishing a culture of excellence in patient care. You will manage staff evaluations, hiring, and daily performance while guiding education and training across teams.

The Clinician will mentor nurses and act as a preceptor for students, graduates, and experienced staff, driving improvements in quality, safety, and patient experience within the trauma unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
• BSN required; Master's or higher degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with executives, managers, physicians, and patients/families.

Responsibilities

• Leads staff evaluations, hiring, and daily performance for direct reports.
• Provides service-based education, orientation, and training.
• Mentors staff, acts as preceptor for students and new nurses.
• Drives quality improvement and safety initiatives in patient care.
• Ensures clear communication and coordination with executives, managers, and families.
