Qualifications

  • Candidates must be BC/BE in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
  • Experience with surgical care of trauma, emergency general surgery, and critical care patients required.
  • Experience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery required.

Job description

Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Pflugerville is seeking Trauma and Acute Care Surgeons to join the Department of Surgery at our hospital in Pflugerville, TX.We are in the process of growing our Trauma Surgery service team, looking to add a visionary physician leader to oversee and advance the delivery of trauma care as we pursue Level III Trauma Designation.

Candidates must be BC/BE in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.

Position Information

·Responsibilities will include:

oClinical Leadership

§Evaluation of all trauma and emergency general surgery consults

§Rounding for the STICU and Trauma Acute Care Surgery Services

§OR coverage for Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, and Elective General Surgery

§Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, ACS standards, and institutional protocols.

oMission

§Regional outreach and commitment to trauma and emergency surgical services

§Involvement in both TQIP and NSQIP

§Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to trauma team members including acute care surgeons, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff.

Qualifications:

·MD/DO degree

·Fellowship training in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery
